The following scenario would occur regularly when I went shopping for the household foodstuffs:
Grab keys. Grab baby. Grab husband's butt. Kidding. Husband is at work. Think about going to a butcher for meat and a market for fresh fruit and veg at low prices. Drive to supermarket.
Go into fresh section and think about changing things up by getting a whole array of fresh fruit and vegies I don't normally buy. Chuck a bag of bananas and a couple of onions in the trolley. Move towards confectionary aisle.
One day, as I was contemplating how many more times I would believe myself when I said next time I was really going to a fruit market, the distant memory of a piece of junk mail I got about a year ago floated before my eyes. It was a pamphlet, I recalled, advertising a fresh fruit and veg delivery service, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the company. I did some googling and discovered another company called Fresh Express.
I employed the services of this company, and for the last six weeks have had this:
delivered to my door at a price that wouldn't get you this much at the supermarket, with no delivery charge. It's like Christmas every Tuesday afternoon. Combined with The System, I am the laziest I mean most efficient healthy eater in town.
And I have the unknown company to thank, whose advertising material was successful in getting business for the competition.

3 Thoughts:
I too thought it was a great idea and tried it. Food was great but we used them for four weeks and within that time freshexpress failed to deliver twice. When you have two little ones waiting for dinner this is worse than going to the shop yourself in the morning.
That's a shame, because the food is good. My experience with the delivery has been positive so far. Once I wasn't home when they came and they called my mobile and waited for me to get home.
When my friend mentioned that another mutual friend of ours gets her fruit and veg delivered to her, I was intrigued. That led me to Google this type of service and I came across http://www.freshexpress.org/.
I first ordered the Couples Pack, just to give it a go! It was really great! Good quality produce at a fantastic price. So if you are a busy person and find that you want to make sure you are getting your fruit and veg, I highly recommend getting it delivered to you.
If you are in Melbourne AUSTRALIA, I recommend the guys I go with, and here are the reasons I think Fresh Express rock:
1. No commitments – all I have to do now is email them asking them to deliver for that week, they have all my details and they easily process it!
2. Ever changing menu – they don’t just deliver the same thing every week, you can check their “next week’s menu” to see what you will have delivered
3. Variety – I find that I always buy the same items when fruit and veg shopping… this will force me to start using other fruit and veg that I would not ordinarily buy. Eg Red Onions… I have never bought one of those before, but they are really nice in salads. Fuji apples… I always buy Granny Smiths, ALWAYS, but Fujis are so great :)
4. Quality – the quality of what I have received is just great!

Sure, they can do with a little less animated gifs on their website, but they don’t specialise in web dev, they specialise in fruit and veg and they obviously are not paying some web developer big bucks to develop a fancy shmancy website, hence they keep their prices low :) I like that!!!
